Christmas Without Snow!

Christmas without snow! I have to say it's definitly doesn't feel like Christmas when a small town Saskatchewan girl comes out to BC for the Holidays. It feels like spring out here. The water is running we get showers in the afternoon, and the grass is GREEN! I'm not complaining though, it's definitly a nice change not having to bundle up in a huge jacket, mitts, a toque and big boots just to walk to the store. Anyway my cousin Sharalin and I went to Abbotsford the other day and checked out the Mark Center. This is the facility where we'll be staying for our two months of training. It's a beautiful three story lodge with a great veiw of Abbotsford. The landscaping around the building is full of rocks and shrubs, and even in winter now it looks good, never mind what it will look like in spring. There's is also a hot tub outside. Yeah a hot tub, not gonna lie but that sounds mighty nice right now. Well my parents leave for home on Sunday and I have a week to go before the program starts. I'll be keeping my Oma and Opa company until the 7th of January. Well Happy New Year to you all!

Commissioning

So it's my last day of work and I am kind of excited to be done. Two Little Birdies has been an awesome little place to work with wonderful people, but it's time to move on and fly from the little nest I made here. Today is my last day in the city. My roomates took me out Wednesday night to a restaurant called the BarKing Fish. It's a fun little place where they only serve a certain type of fish that actually makes a barking sort of noise under water. . . No, I'm just pulling your leg! It's more of an appetizer place to just chill with a group of people. It was a good time. After that we went for some amazing desserts at Truffles Bistro, and then watched one of my personal favorites... "the Notebook"... and yes I cryed through over half the movie. lol. It was a nice way to kind of say good bye to all of them. Then last night my college and career group prayed for me and commissioned me off. It was really encouraging to know that there is a group of people that are behind me and will be praying for me while I'm gone. I want this time away to really be one where I discover more and more of who God is, and his character. I want this to be a discovery time, but with my focus on just getting to know my heavenly father. My "theme verse" that has been on my heart lately is 2 peter 1:5-7 " 5 In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, 7 and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone."

Blank Walls and Tears in my Heart

As Christmas approaches rapidly my schedule starts to over flow. It's a wonderful time of year, and there's an excitement in the air. I've had the opportunity of helping choreograph a "human video" at a kids christmas concert, dance at a ladies christmas gathering to the song "breath of heaven", preform at a college and career coffee house, and I still have one more opportunity that has come up to dance at a neighbourhood Christmas gathering. Still amoungst all the excitement, I have started to pack up my things to move back home from the city. Yesterday was sort of a sad day, because now the walls of my room are bare, and the realization that I'll be leaving my roomates is setting in. I have been truly blessed to have lived with them this last year and a half. We've had lots of fun hanging out and chatting, throwing parties, dressing up, cooking together every evening, taking pictures, and just laughing together until our stomachs hurt. I'm going to miss them terribly but I know God has another adventure planned for me over the next few months. Yesterday I got another update of where I am with support, and $5000.00 has come in already. Thank you sooo much to those who have chosen to support me, you are greatly appreciated. Thank you aswell to those who have been praying for me, your prayer's are soo important in my journey ahead. Happy Christmas Shopping, I'll be updating soon!
